In 1989, Ken Snook, the owner of Snook’s Butcher Shoppe on Duck Lake Road, looked up from his work and saw Ron Colasanti, owner of a unique market just down the road. Colasanti had an idea: Snook should move his butcher shop into the market. The partnership was a brilliant success, and when the Colasantis were ready to move on in 2007, Ken Snook took the helm, expanding Colasanti’s Market to include a grocery, wine and beer shop, deli, and greenhouse. Today, Colasanti’s Market is more than just a place to shop—it’s a beloved community destination that blends old-world charm with modern convenience.
Under Snook’s leadership, Colasanti’s has flourished. What started as a simple butcher shop has grown into a full-service market known for its exceptional service, quality, and consistency. Snook’s passion for tradition and commitment to excellence is evident in every corner of the store, from the in-house butcher shop, where meats are cut, ground, and smoked, to the expansive wine and craft beer selection featuring nearly 3,000 wines and 750 beers. In June 2023, Colasanti’s Market entered an exciting new chapter when Jeff Kassab took over ownership from longtime proprietor Ken Snook. With over 40 years of experience in retail and as a skilled meat cutter, Jeff brings a passion for quality, service, and community that is at the heart of everything we do.
